Duane has retired after 43 years of ministry
in the Detroit Conference of the United Methodist Church.
He is a graduate of Adrian College and Wesley Theological Seminary.
His favorite relaxing activities are spending time working on the
River House,
enjoying carpentry, fishing, hunting and playing with the grandchildren.
He is a member of the local Kiwanis Club. In October of 2016 he became the Lieutenant Governor for our Division 20. He served for two years.
He serves as the chair of Liberia Task Force for the Saginaw Bay District- now the Central Bay District.
From Christmas 2013 thru April of 2014 he served on a month by month basis The Gathering in Harrison - the other church in our charge.
From December 2014 thru June 2015 he served as interim District Superintendent of the Blue Water District.
From June 2016 thru October 2016 he served as interim pastor for the church we attend and its sister church The Gathering in Harrison.
As of November 2016, the Gathering has a new pastor. A lay speaker had been helping to cover Wagarville until a new pastor would be assigned.
As of September 2017, the lay speaker was assigned as the pastor.

Diana has taught piano at home in her piano studio. She has now retired. She has received her permanent certification in piano teaching from her state and national music groups. She will end ten years of being Treasurer of the Michigan Music Teachers Association in December 2018..
She is a graduate of Adrian College and has done graduate work at Northern Michigan University.
She and Duane attend Wagarville Community United Methodist Church
where she accompanies the worship service, is the chair of the Missions Committee, and is the president of the local UMW.
She is a past President of the Detroit Conference United Methodist Women
and past Vice President of the North Central Jurisdiction Leadership Team of the UMW.
She is currently Chair of Standing Rules for the Michigan Conference United Methodist Women.
She has been a member of the General Commission on Archives and History related to our church since 2012 and is currently their Secretary.
She is also President of the Michigan Area United Methodist Church Historical Society.
She has been a member of the local Kiwanis Club since 2014 and is currently treasurer.
Her favorite relaxing activities are reading, doing sudoku puzzles, doing genealogy and organizing. She has created several books on the family surnames and still hopes to add the information to this site.
They enjoy spending time with their family. Son David and his wife Lori and children Brendan and Makenzie live in Hudsonville, MI.
Daughter Beth, her husband Andy and children Samuel and Eleanor live in Arlington Hgts, IL.
